I have atm 3 acan frags, but was thinking of doing an acan garden type effect. I currently have all 3 frags in the sand. I was thinking of getting a piece of BRS tonga shelf to place on the sand, and then placing the acans on it so they can spread out more.here is a link to the rock I was thinking about.

would it be better to leave the acans on the sand or go ahead and get a shelf piece for them to be placed on?

i've had acan frags in the sand but had to move them after fish bothered them. i glued the frags to rocks about half to 3/4 down from the top and they have grow very well. both of my 2 headed rainbow acans now have close to 10 heads each after just 3 months. enjoy the vast variety of acans available

ya was thinking of attaching them to a shelf plate on the sand so they san spread more, when they grow on the sand I see that the tend to grow up into more of a mound.

I've had better success doing this same thing. My acans that are glued to rocks low in the tank are more puffed out than the one that I have on the sand.

I have not had nearly the success of having a 2 headed acan grow that much in 3 months! How did you pull that off?!?!
