Question on bulb replacement

LFS told me my 6/54w ATI sunpower dimmable unit is not enough too keep sps , went in to get another bulb to replace the ABspecial cause it looks like me colors are being washed out I was going too get the kz new generation bulb and they told me to get another ABspecial and take out the Fiji purple So I'll have 2abspecial and 4 blue plus . Do you think that will help.

I would do the following arrangement for great color:

Blue Plus
Ab special
Blue Plus
Blueplus
Fiji Purple
Blue PLus

The reason the colors look washed out is due to placement over what combo you are using usually. T5 bulbs have great coverage but over a 6 bulb span it depends on what is in the front of the viewing area primarily. If the ab special is in the fore front of the viewing area, then the ab special will actually wash the colors out more to the viewer due to the fact that that is the color spectrum they are seeing most. The ab special is known for overpowing other spectrum bulbs especially fiji purples. If you move it to the back 1/3rd of the fixture then you should see good growth and better color pop as well.

1. Stop listening to your LFS regarding lighting.
2. I would go with your instinct and switch the AB Special for either the KZ Coral Light or KZ New Gen.
3. Keep the Fiji Purple
4. Grow all the SPS you want under the fixture down to at least 24".

This right here!

I wouldn't step foot in that LFS again. They have ZERO clue on what they are talking about. ATI's are extremely powerful and you will have no issue with SPS anywhere. Quite the opposite actually. You may fry some LPS and even SPS if you aren't careful with acclimation.
