I just put in a bag of Seachem's SeaGel (a mix of matrix carbon and phosguard) in the system that houses my peacock mantis, as well as several different coral species and 2 fish. Within minutes of doing so, my sea urchin begins to release massive amounts of what I believe to be sperm... this got me a little concerned. I know that KCl is used to induce the release of gammetes in urchins, but I don't know if that is an ingredient in Phosguard or not. I don't know if this was chemically induced or it was just ready to let everything go... the mantis seems as if she couldnt care less, but I didn't know if this would have any effect on her as well? It may just be coincidence, but it took me by surprise... does anyone have any thoughts on the matter?
