Question on jumping clam

If you get a clam to attach to a rock on sand bed level then take it higher on the rocks, would it still beable to detach and jump if it does not like the loacation?
Would a clam kept in a location that it does not like lead to it dying or does it et used the environment and make it with decent liking?
Do you also worry about flow where the clam is or is it just a lot of light that's important?

if a clam jumps it will not die unless it lands "face " down i guess and yes they can jump whenever they want if they want , flow is as important as light but it shouldn't push it's mantle around just enough to carry waste away and clean oxygenated water in !

So can they detach thems//::elves from the rock they've attached to to jump? or are they just stuck there and can't tell us if they're not happy where they are?
