Question on light acclimating SPS coral

So I got a green branching monti yesterday and I would like to know the best way to light acclimate it. I have reef breeders value LED lights set at 25 percent with the monti at the bottom of the tank. Should I instead be putting the monti at the location I want it to be at and lower the light's power to compensate, and then slowly bring the power back up? Or should I raise the frag slowly over a few weeks to the location I want it to be at?

Hi grant

If you have other corals in the tank don't bring down light's power.
It might stress them or it might not.
Personaly i wouldn't take the risk.
Like you said,i'd put the monti at the bottom of the tank and after a couple of days/weeks(depending on it's health/look) i'd glew it to the desired location:beer:

my method is just to put them right in and do not adjust anything. i have not had a loss yet. 25% is week i dont think you will have a problem.

this is my method, everyone has there own.

Well I think I will take a picture of it tomorrow, post it here, and then see if you all think it is ready to go to the desired location.

Here is a photo. I accidentally broke the frag in three getting it off the plug because one time I brought aiptasia into my tank from the fish store's plug.

Wise move grant!
Had the same thing happen to me and since then no rock comes into my tank.
Even if that means getting rid of 20-30% of the coral or give the rock to bolder friends than me:)
Coral looks great!
