question on monti caps

everything in my tanks been doing great i have a lotta zoos and lps ,i had a few frags of monti cap that were doing great ,out of no were a few of the frags that were doing good and spreading onto my rocks died off and some didnt i checked all my water parametters and there fine no change or swings i was just wondering if i did something wrong or what actually caused them the die off i was so excited they were doing good

Check for monti eating nudies.

maybe they stung the cap i havnt seen any nudis in the tank

Usually about a week or two after you get a frag of monti that has nudis you will start to learn that you have them. Cross your fingers.

do monti eating nudis cause bleaching in the ctr that spreads in patches? My 2.5 inch frag, fraged itself then started bleaching in the ctr. My alk,ca,ph,mg are all inline with NSW

Sometimes with caps it's all about flow and lower light. One minute they'll grow like weeds and the next they just die off for no reason if there is a change in flow or light as well.

Yes they can. Look at the pest sticky in this section and cross your fingers.

typically monti nudis come out at night, they like to hang out on the underside of the coral during the day, so they eat their way from an edge inward... if there are any "edges" in the center then that could cause it..

The way you describe this though Id be more inclined to think its flow related.

I think it has to do with the payla stinking them maybe cause I still don't see any nudis ,my water conditions are great ,I havnt changed either the bulbs or the flow in the tank they were doing so good for weeks spreading over the rocks and outta no were bamb gone idk I'm hetting discused with keeping sps to delicate and can't explain y the die off and everything else does great does anyone thing a cal reactor would help out maybe my alk swung up or down alittle I think a cal reactor works on balancing alk and cal right would this help me at all
