Question on supplementing lighting for feeding an anemone

I saw a post on another site about a person who has a bta but only about 2.6 wpg in a 55g tank. They are planning on supplementing the anemone's lighting needs with solid foods for nutrients. Will this work or will the anemone's needs not be met? Thanks for your time.

Some people have kept anemones "successfully" in lower light tanks by feeding heavily. This isn't really appropriate husbandry IMHO. BTAs do not grow in low light areas with a lot of feed in the ocean, for that reason I would like to see something closer to their normal light needs.

In reading your signature it looks like you are in the process of upgrading your lighting. When you do, and it is good idea, be sure to acclimate your anemones to the new light.

Oh, it's not my tank. I have 180w MH lighting on my 30g tank. I just read this post of another person's tank and was wondering if it can be done.
