I could not find much out on this gorgonian and all i could find was this;

Anthoplexaura (also Euplexaura)
sp. - Flexible thin branched tree-like skeleton. Composed of
horny or calcareous skeletal elements. Polyps embedded in
crusty layer of living material which surrounds skeleton. This
gorgonian species has few branches and are thickly polyped.
Some species from Caribbean sea contain symbiotic algae. Will
shed skin. Polyps are up to 5 mm long. Only feed zooplankton
when polyps are open. Can stir up sediment to entice polyps
to open.

I wanted to know if this one has symbiotic algae, or not.

thanks

Steve_Aquarius,

Thank you for your post on this Euplexaura. We will be contacting our Aquaculture Facility in the morning to determine whether this particular Gorgonian has symbiotic algae. We will post here once we have this information available. We greatly appreciate your patience with this matter.

Steve_Aquarius,

The Yellow and Purple Euplexaura sp. Sea Fan is not photosynthetic and should be maintained in a nutrient rich aquarium, with plenty of flow, and offered zooplankton, and other foods designed for filter feeding invertebrates.

Happy Reefing!
