What are you guys using to hold your live rock together while aquascaping? I know there is "marine" two part epoxy and the putty but is there any other putty or exoxy that may not be sold as reef safe but I can use that may be cheaper and/or get more product? There are several puttys like the loktite and the mighty putty has anyone. Had any experience with these or any other product?

Let me think... 55gallon, 70 Gallon Corner, 75 Gallon, 220 Gallon, 55 Gallon, and Currently 90 Gallon... and if everything works as planned 220 or 125 Gallon in the next week or so...

Yea up until this setup I haven't used anything but I want to use some lace rock to make a couple overhangs and need them to be held by a product. How long does lace take to look good (not white and clean) is it about the same as curing fiji lr?

Personally I'm not a fan of lace rock, but some have used it with good experiences. Some "lace rock" is actually volcanic ash, some of it is calcium based, some of it will leach very high amounts of heavy minerals, etc. It can take quite a while for any dry rock to start growing coralline and coloring up. If you're going to go that route, I would suggest adding at least a few live rocks and plan to cycle for 3-4 months prior to adding any corals/fish/nutrients.

If I was going to do what you are doing I would use a masonary drill bit and carbon fiber rods. Thing is with gluing it together if you ever want to move it around it will be a pain and you may see left over expoxy if you cant scrape it off

I used 1/2" acrylic rods and a masonry bit. Worked awesome. I was able to have overhangs that defy gravity but I'm able to completely dismantle the rock if needed. I'm pretty sure I have some extra acrylic rod if you're interested.
