i go away 4 days a week. My G/F tries her best to maintain my nano while im gone. everytime i return the PH is purple on the api test kit. around 8.8. Is she added too much bicarbonate/carbonate soda mixture or too much calcium additive each day? what is going on. Its fine when i leave. around 8.3

Depends if the product she is adding is a pH buffer? Some 2-part suppliments will also raise pH. What suppliments is she dosing exactly?

its the baking soda/washing soda mixture i use and kents calcium chloride. doesnt seem to happen to me when im home. she swears she only adds 1.5 ml of each in a 12-15 gallon nano.
