if i purchased 2 mp40w & also wanted to purchase the back up battery...would i need 1 or 2

You can run 2 MP40w's with one battery backup. You will need to get an extra cord from Ecotech, as it comes supplied with only one. At least mine had only one. You can also run the pumps on their own Battery Backup to get more battery run time. Also you can "daisy chain" battery backups together to get extended run time.

I have 3 pumps. Two are on one battery. The power was out here for about 16 hours the two pumps running on one battery didn't make it 8 hours. ETM says they should run longer than that but that is what I experenced.
