i just lost my favorite fish  and im tryin to figure out why since he was healthy and eating fine yesterday..... only thing thats changed is i added a bunch of ricordea yesterday but since i got all loose ones i had to use super glue gel to glue them on to the rocks....can this be the reason? i ordered the rics from ebay can they have infected him somehow? oh yea i added 25 cerith snails too ...... is it possible to use too much? maybe the brand i used

I dont think that it would be the cerith snails. I added about 40 cerith snails and at least 100 small hermit crabs all at the same time. I did not have any problems.

it was a naso tang that ive had since july...... another thing i started dosing b-ionic again 2 days ago after not using it for about 4 month

also i added a phosban reactor with rowaphos a few weeks back but i thought that was a good thing

You did change a lot recently, so it most likely affected water chemistry, if not for the worse just different. But eating and healthy one day, dead the next is strange. I've slathered on the super glue and used epoxy in my tanks without incident. Tangs are sensitive, though. Did it have any marks or spots when it died?

I agree with pedro that does sound like quite a bit of change, but I don't think it would be anything to be alarmed about.

Tangs are sensitive creatures though, it may have been a intestinal parasite or something of the sort. They do pick at live rock and algae all day, so it could have come from anywhere.

i know a sudden drop in phosphates can have a bad effect on corals, but i dunno maybe fish too? similar to nitrates also.

I have heard from some naso owners that nasos sometimes eat well one day and are dead the next. I had a blonde naso for almost 2 years and was fine one day and gone the next with no changes to water chemistry.
Maybe, maybe not, but I've seen and heard this happen before.

well there definitly wasnt any ich spots if thats what u mean by white spots but when i got home from work yesterday he had those spots like when the lights first turn on or if he was scared and he was in the corner so i tried to feed n he didnt eat but i didnt think it was that big of a deal but when i got home from dinner a few hours later he was stuck to a powerhead! it just really sux cause he was my favorite fish of all time.... when i got him he was small but when he died last night he was medium size and bright colors! i just wanna find out what the problem was / is so i can replace him
