Do weaker clowns generally prefer more aggressive anemones? Like a percula hosting a carpet. If so, does this go both ways? Like a Maroon hosting a BTA? Or is it just a coincidence that those clowns host those nems?

That's a very intriguing question. I never looked at it that way. However I will say that my once peaceful occs now bite my hand off if I get it near their magnifica.

Maybe you could say more/less agressive, I was thinking weak as in unhealthy. My maroon was as agressive with and without an anemone present although once hosting my sweet ocellaris turned into jaws once hosting. They have eggs now and are viscious towards tankmates that come too close. I think they are all capable of the same amount of agression and fighting when nessessary but don't maintain the same level in general. For instance maroons are usually agressive in all situations involving all other fish with the exception of a mate. Precs and Ocellaris are usually more even tempered and accepting of others. Add an anemone or nest of eggs all bets are off. OK so my maroon did bit harder but the ocellaris are not wimps either.
