Questions about a nps tank

By having a nps tank does that mean that I don't have to haves be good lighting? Or does lighting remain the same, but they needs to be shaded?

Would they be good with an angler fish?

By setting up an aquarium specifically for non-photosynthetic corals & filter feeders, lighting is more for aesthetic/ viewing purposes but still would have some type of daily light cycle over the tank. What you do not spend on a lighting fixture and electricity will easily be made up in food, salt/water changes, gfo & time/dedication to the tank.

As for putting an angler in the tank, falls into the same category of feeding. If you can get it eating frozen marine mysis fine but if not, you will need to have a steady food source for them (some might not like to hear this but I would brush up on your clownfish breeding skills prior to keeping them).
