questions about a sump

when you set up a sump to get the water from the main tank to the sump and back what would i use, just water pumps or power heads or what?

to pump water back to the tank a pump like one of these is used, you need to match the gph to the tank and either overflow or plumbed bulkheads.
theres many brands of return pumps.

if the tank isnt drilled you need one of these, theres better brands of these out there too. i use one and dont have a problem with it because my return rate is so high it sucks the bubbles out of the c siphon.

but most people dont like this brand, but just so you get the idea.

The best is to drill your tank so the water naturally flows into your sump. Then you just have to have a pump to return the water to the tank. Much safer.

Option 2 is to have the overflow box into the sump with a return pump again.
