Questions about Balling methode

I am thinking about Balling method to replace my system , which now consists of Ca reactor and limewater.

Ca and alkalinity consumption is quite high in my aquarium (10 g of Ca every day).

I calculated that I will need approximately 1 kg of CaCl2 x 2H2O and 1 kg of NaHCO3 each month. I suppose that salt without NaCl will not be necessary , because I replace 5% water every week.

Is this correct ?

I found information that 715 g calcium chloride dehydrate have to be dissolved in 10 l of RO water. Is it possible to use less than 10 liters of RO water ?I have same question for Natriumhydrogencarbonat. I found information that 840 gram Natriumhydrogencarbonat have to be dissolved in 10 l of RO water.

What will happen with solution of calcium chloride dehydrate and Natriumhydrogencarbonat with RO water during time. Can I prepare solution 1 month in advance? Is it required that canisters with solutions are closed ?

One question more.
I dosing is not automated (that is actually question for my nano), how much solutions can I add at once.

Is this correct ?

Well, maybe. Craig's articles discuss the buildup of NaCl with or without water changes:

Why are you thinking of switching?

That is ridiculous. It will dissolve in far less water. Maybe even in 1 L.

The baking soda is far less soluble. My DIY two part (Recipe 2) is about at the solubility limit:

An Improved Do-it-Yourself Two-Part Calcium and Alkalinity Supplement System

Remember you cannot mix them, but once dissolved they are stable for a long time.

If you are making solutions, I'd use my DIY recipe. :)

Corals grow very fast in my aquarium , so Ca reactor operate on the maximum and I also dose limewater.

I have KH=8 and Ca=380ppm, so I would like to increase Ca more.

VERY cool link/article RHF. As always :D

Would you recommend your dosing system as a replacement or supplement for reactor / kalkwasser?

I use limewater only for my tank, but if you do not want to use it, then it is a fine independent method, or one that can supplement a second method however you need. :)
