I am still very new to the salt fish game. I just purchased a bicolored blennie about 1 1/2 days ago. At the LFS he was active, healthy, and ate like a pig when fed there. They said they had had him for several weeks. he looked great at the store.
I acclimated him in the bag for 25 minutes or so (bag closed) opened the bag and transfered him to the QT. The QT matched the store salinity and was set up using DT water diluted with RO water down to the store salinity. It is a bare bottom QT with a few pieces of pvc pipe. After 36 hrs or so he has not really eaten and I have offered flake, algea sheets etc (in the store he was eating flake). He does not look to be in distress, his breathing seems fine, no funny coloration to gills, fins etc. He is just being very shy and quiet and mainly hangs out in one corner of the tank. You have to almost encurage him to move about., when he does move he seems to swim fine.
1. How long can they stay like this?
2. Are there additional things I should be looking for?
3. Suggestions on specific food they really like?
Thanks. I lost a gobie during my first fish purchase a few months back, so i am a little nervous about getting more fish.
