Questions About Starting Up Remote Fuge

Hi all!

I've finally got my remote fuge plumbed and I have some basic questions about setting it up. Here goes:

1. I am moving some live sand and live rock from my sump into it. I don't have enough sand in the sump, so I will be mixing it with dry sand and a bag of crushed coral (I plan on keeping a pistol shrimp in it). Should I put the live sand on the bottom? On the top? Mix it all up really well?

2. After moving the live sand I imagine I'm going to have some nasty nitrates and/or ammonia sitting in the newly setup fuge. Should I create some water circulation in the fuge and wait a week or so to connect it to the main system?

3. Er, I guess "some" basic questions really = 2 basic questions. If I'm over complicating this and you don't think I have anything to worry about, let me know. I tend to do that sometimes! Also just general advice regarding remote fuges would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance for any advice.
