Hi all, I bought a 12 gallon JBJ Nano Cube DX from prior owner, so it's re-establishing itself nicely. All stock equipment. I'm learning as I go.
Right now I have live rock, copious amounts of Xenia, frogspawn, candycane, button polyps, mushrooms, 2 shrimp, one emerald crab, and one false perc. clown.
My question is: I'm having to unplug power head for feeding the clown (a.m. feeding flakes, p.m. feeding Marine Cuisine) twice per day times a few minutes off). Also unplug when adding every 2-3 days Reef Snow (off for almost an hour) and Purple Up (also an hour). Otherwise it gets sucked right into surface skimmer and mechanical filter floss.
Is there any easier way to do this?
Finally, in doing water changes (so far doing about 20% changes every 2 weeks), the Xenia attached to the top of my rocks are out of water until I get new water in, probably 2-3 minutes. There's too much Xenia for me to reposition it all lower in tank. Will the Xenia survive this in the long haul?
Thanks!
