I've seen many people doing these aquascapes and had a question or two.
1. has anyone notices an ill effects to there aquariums? If so what type of foam was used?
2. Other then the cure time for drying, is there water or vinegar cure time? Do u just create, epoxy sand to it, then in the tank it goes?

Thanks for any info

hi eric mac ,

i've used an foam background , and it didn't had any bad effects .
But my hermit crab loves to eat it !
Now that the back ground is in there for 3 years , he has amost eat it away!!

greetingzz tntneon :)

Use black pond foam. No cure time at all, just let it set for 24 hours and go. Just make sure you use ALOT of rock as this stuff is VERY bouyant!

you can cover it in epoxy if you want but I didnt bother. its got coralline and corals growing on it just fine.

and I only have 1 blue leg hermit so no issues :)

Bought mine from home depot pond section. Let me tell you it is FULL of pods and brittle stars. Coolest thing ever, and after first month or so coralline everywhere. Also notice my zoos love to attach to it

They are VERY easy to make too. I made my first one in about 20 minutes for my GF's 29cube. It came out great and I learned a thing or two for making one for my 80. like LOTS OF ROCK!!!!

Thanks guys

I'm thinking of trying it out on my 150.

I see people using epoxy to glue sand/crushed coral to their walls.

Let me know if u guys think this will work? What if I spread sand/crushed coral on it while the foam is still tacky , I'm not saying do this right after I spray it but about 10 mins after so the foam has a little time to set. Then lightly press it into the foam to hold.
