Does one little curl in the mantle mean PM? Should I dip it in freshwater as soon as I see a single curl? Is pm something that can come and go in small non-fatal episodes?

no it doesnt. the reason clams curl there mantles is because something is irritating them. if its doing it in one small part, then straiting out its probably not PM. ive had clams with apitasia on there shells that will cause the mantle to curl in small spots just like you would see in PM

man i love you mbbuna, ok so next question if the one curl persists is it likely to be PM, what could i do beyond checking to see if something else is bugging the clam to find out if it is infact pm.

lol I've seen that photo cruise through the email once or twice in my life. I think the clam is fine and the curl only showed up today, I'm not even sure if its an inward curl or not, just pre-emptively freaking out for good measure. I'm more just asking questions so if I see something I know what I'm looking at and know what to do that and when others ask I'll know.
