Questions on quarantine

So I just read an article on quarantine, and I have a question on filtration. The author suggests using a cycled sponge filter (or other such media) as filtration. My question: after I'm done with the quarantine, do I place the sponge filter back into main displays sump?

The article suggests a 30 day countdown where no signs or symptoms present themselves (any set back restarts the countdown). Would a sump w/ filter sock and some type of cycled sponge filter be alright? Are there any risks to placing this sponge back into the main display system.

If the fish in QT did not show any signs of disease or parasite you should be good. That being said, I would throw the sponge away. There is very little benefit in keeping it.
