I want to make sure that all of my equipment is up-to-date and if I'm missing anything. I purchased this from a lady who had it sitting in her basement unused for a few years, here is what it is.

135 gallon acryllic setup with canopy

I have two Koralia 3 powerheads and two other ones that pump 1000gph
all of these are new. Is that enough flow? I have them pointing in different directions up and down the tank.

What size pump is the best for the job? Im not sure what came with the setup. But it seems to run fine.

I have a small protein skimmer I think it is for a smaller tank, it is about 3.5-4" around at the top. What is the correct skimmer for 135 gal?

What size sump should I be using?

other than my heaters and lighting which I know are fine, am I missing anything major?

any info would help. thanks.

flow should be good as long as no sps corals
a name or pic of the skimmer would be helpful
for my 125 i have a 40 gallon breeder for a sump on my 110 i have a 30 gallon breeder
for the return pump is you tank drilled how many and how big are the drains on my 110 i have 3 1.5 bulkheads and a mag 9.5 worked for me

That sounds like a pretty small skimmer for a tank that size. Something in the 6 to 8 inch diameter is probably more appropriate, especially if you have some decent size fish. What fish do you have?

depending on if the other two powerheads are really moving 1000 gph, you'll be totally fine for even SPS. in my 2x2 60 cube, I have 2 K3's and that is it.

As far as a return, it's really up to you. You can go as slow as 100gph, or as fast as 2000gph if it'll work with your drains. I prefer slower. It limits micro-bubbles in the system and gives my refugium time to work, but it's more a matter of preference really. I like lower also because it generally means less electricity.

Ray, I have a snowflake eel, a small foxface and a small panther grouper (which I am finding a home for).

I definately need a bigger skimmer.

As far as my sump, can I use a 55 gallon tank if it will fit underneath? It probably won't.

I will take a pic of my setup underneath later today and will post.
