questions regarding SPS

so I turned on the gfo and my phosphates and nitrates still show no signs on the test and my alk and calc is same as before. The corals are starting to look a lot worse and are starting to get white everywhere.

I am not sure what is going on, this only happened when I added the new corals. before everything was going good. I have attached a couple pictures of the corals.

have you dipped them? this looks like AEFW to me. Big patches of skin missing.

Only started when you added the new corals. All that can be a sign those corals came in to your system infected.

No I didnt dip the corals because the system they came from has a ton of SPS and all of them are growing crazy and very good so I never thought they could have any bugs.

I contacted the guy I bought them from and his corals are still doing great. Could it still be possible that I have the bug and he doesnt?

well pretty much all of my sps died, I have no idea what happened or is in the tank. I turned off the gfo when i made the first post

Calc 480
Phosphate is 0.05, got a hanna checker yesterday
Salinity 1.026
Temp is 76-78

just tested phosphate to make sure that was correct. ran 2 test both came out at .25 so im assuming thats probably why???

From what I read aefw do not like to eat birdsnest. I really don't think it was phosphates. Unless that test is of. I use a Hanna also and mine was at .19. I added like 40 micro sps frags and they were fine. I did drop it with phosguard but my point is 40 fresh frags from importation of LFS survived .19 from wild colonies. You think yours from another tank would be fine. I do know my nitrates are 0. Marinepure block is partial to that.

My opinion is dip everything always. Inspect for eggs and always remove frag plugs. Its simple to break and reglue.

If its not pests, no swings in alk, then nitrates, lighting or fish.

The birdsnest is what is throwing my guess off.

hahah nice garage. the light i have are just those 2 cheap chinese leds, when I move back to PA this summer I am starting form scratch on a 180 gallon from the bottom up with dry rock.

that is a rose bubble tip anemone right next to it but it can not reach it, just looks like it in that picture.

the only fish in here are 2 clownfish and a very small yellow tang, got it last week when I knew I was going back to PA in June with my 180 gallon.

Nitrate brand test is API, i know its not the best and i plan to get a hanna soon. but the tube came out as yellow as could be so im almost positive that its 0

That looks like a torch not a rbta, but i could be mistaken. Which could have been stinging and killing the corals. Some corals do not mix well at all. Give photobucket a try and send some full tank shots. I test nitrate with salifert. I have used cheap chinese leds too, but they were the ones built for corals. Mine are from 3 years ago, taotronics, which is like the mars aquas. Not sure which ones you got.

1st image in initial appears to be from wave maker.... i had a similar effect on the corals 4 inches from it (too big to move else where) and writ one side off, the other side appears to be doing fine, retained colour yet no polyp extend, though the wave makers are powerful, they are also large and cant be positioned else where :/
