Questions setting up DIY Break out box.

Hey,
I made a DIY breakout box a few months ago, and finally getting around to setting it up.

How do I program it?

If I add an outlet as ATOLow as a virtual outlet and write my code

Fallback OFF
Set OFF
If Switch1 CLOSED Then ON
If Switch1 OPEN Then OFF

and make Sound alarm outlet for instance ON when ATOLow is ON

Will that work??

Yes. However, Apex switches default to OPEN, if you reverse the action so that ATOLow is ON when OPEN, you would get an alarm when either low or accidentally disconnected. Also, you have a few redundancies. Fallback is not needed with a virtual outlet. Set OFF and If Switch1 ... OFF accomplish the same thing, so you could eliminate one or the other.

Well my first problem was my Switch 1 and 2 were reversed on my DIY box... Oh well, Atleast I know now. The Alarm is just in my ATO reservoir. I just added a larger container, because I went through ~3 gallons in a few days, and I wouldnt know when it was empty. So i found a 12 gallon container and installed a float switch in it near the bottom so I know when I have about a gallon left.

I have another question, I am going to buy some magnetic contact switches for my stand. Should I get normally open or closed? NC is only $1.25 NO is close to $4

Since swearint says the switches default to normally open. Should I get normally open switches, that way when the door is shut, the lights turn off, but also if the switch fails, the lights remain off? or does it matter?

You're talking about the door on your stand, right? Get the cheap one and worry about something else.
