Okay... got a rock from a frag tank at a store, and it has on it three anemones.

Small. About the size of medium-ish aiptasia. I thought they were aiptasia, but when I looked closer, they have little tips sticking out all over the length of their tenticles.

Is this just another type of aiptasia or some other type of anemone?

Some names to be able to look up pictures would be great.

Thanks!

Doesn't look like a majano to me.

Here is a picture of it pretty close up:

Am having a hard time finding good info on one that looks anything like mine.

Would it spread and be bad like aiptasia?

Would my peppermint shrimp try to eat it?

It doesn't look like aiptasia (or a rock anemone). There are literally thousands of species of anemones, so it's hard to say. It looks healthy, if it isn't bothering anything why not just watch it for now.

Well, I have it in a quarantine right now, and didn't want to risk putting it in my show tank until I had an idea of whether it was a bad aiptasia like thing or something else.

That picture looks pretty close, but the other pics when I search for Heteractis Aurora don't seem quite right.

Does anyone know if this is bad?

Maybe I will just keep it in quarantine and feed it up and see if it gets too crazy.
