Just wondering if anyone knows the name of this plant/algee? It has been growing in the tank for about a month to get to the point is at now.

im pretty sure that its not a coral, or i would be suprised if it is, it doesnt have any soft tissues on it, it apears to be rather hard, does not move in the current or anything, i have not tuched it because i dont want to break it, looks kind of brittle.

Not all corals move in the water. It could be some kind of SPS coral. You should really try that over at the coral forum. That's where the experts (which I am not) hang out. Here is a pic of a larger fire coral.

Definitely a Coralline algae. Perhaps Amphiroa.

it defentily looks like some type of Amphiroa, anyone know how large i can expect this clump to grow, right now its about a big around as a nickel or a little larger.
