Quick quarantine setup?

Hi,

Unfortunately my 2 clown fish both have ich. I do not have a quarantine running right now, and do not have the time to cycle it as they would probably be dead by then... Could I just throw in a piece of live rock from my display tank along with a HOB filter, and maybe an air stone? Or put a used seeded filter pad in the filter? I would think that these would come with the bacteria needed to keep the params stable.
 
How bad is the Ich? I wouldnt use a rock from your tank unless you plan on never using it again. The filter would do. Id put som pvc elbows or ceramic pots in there.

It's just a few spots at this point, but I just lost a Royal Gramma to it so I want to put it to a stop. So I wouldn't need to cycle as long as I threw a filter pad in?
 
that would depend on the bioload and how many water changes you want to do. How many fish and what size tank? If you only have a few it should be good to just use the HOB filter as long as its been in the DT for a bit.
 
It would only be the two clowns but it would be a small qt tank (10 gal). Also, what specific gravity would I want if I tried hypo salinity to cure it? I' heard anywhere from 1.008- 1.021
