Quick question about "dirty" RODI water

Hey,

I have aquaFX barracuda setup and have a quick question. My black feed line is connected to the cold water line that is providing cold water to the sink. My yellow tube for waste water is connected to the water drain underneath the sink.

Question is: I have dirty water being produced 24/7 (yellow tube) even when I am not pumping the treated water out (valve on the unit is switched to off but dirty water is still being produced). This doesn't seem right, so just wanted to see what is going on and if in fact something is wrong.

Thanks for your help

Don't know the specifics, but you need a shut off valve, or a different means of hooking up to the water supply that you can shut off. If you don't get more info soon try posting on "the filter guys" board in the sponsor forum area of reef central. Constant flow is not right.

I just recieved a RO/DI unit from the filterguys and the black line is the waste line, yellow is the cold water supply line to the RO unit. Now I'm sure they would use the same colors for the different lines as like an electricain does. I would definately research that cause your unit might be running backwards.

pay no attention to the color of the lines vs other peoples. I have seen them in every color of the rainbow, they mean nothing from one product to the next.

How long have been running your unit. the will often run for a couple of days when brand new

do you have an automatic shut off valve?

half way down page. when your shut off your output, either by a valve or float valve, the auto shut valve also shuts off the water supply line.

you need one if you dont have it to operate they way you want it to
