Quick question about TTM

Im gonna give TTM a second shot, but wife told me that it has to happen in the garage. Too many aquariums inside the house. Im sure some people here know about that.

Unfortunately, its a little warmer in the garage. I tested today and my 10 gallon tank got up to 83.5 degrees. Its 4PM now, not sure if it will get hotter.

Is this fine or too hot?

If so, Ill buy some fans for them.

I would be concerned if the temperature gets to 84 or higher. The fish are going to be stressed just by the transfers so adding water that is too warm is not a good idea. If the holding containers are large and fish load small 84 would likely not be an issue, but the oxygen levels drop with higher temperatures so I would advise fans.

agreed, fans will be necessary. i have my fans run on QT at the point it hits 82, which is even a little high IMO. I try to keep the temp at 80-81.

Congrats for sticking to your TTM guns.
Use fans if needed, but I would certainly try to convince your wife to allow a short term inconvenience to protect your investment.
I have had 2 sets of TTM tanks plus 2 QT's running for 3 months while I get our 125 done. But the result will be worth it.

Thanks. Ill buy some fans from Amazon.

I have a 150 reef that started a few months ago. I just started a 75g and also have a 50 FW. I guess you can say, whats 1 more tank, but I rather play it safe. I don't want all 3 to end up in the garage :)

Just get some cheapo $10s fan from Walmart or where ever.
If you skip TTM you may end up looking at 2 fishless salt tanks for 3 months.
And if your fish don't die they will have to be in QT - another tank ( maybe 2 )
Won't she love THAT !!!
Good Luck
