Quick Question.

When I first started this hobby, I was lead/chose to belive that a pistol or mantis shrimp in your tank was a bad thing. I did have a pistol in my reef ( I would hear it click at night), and my LFS would tell me to take it out if I could catch it.
Now I see reefers buying either mated pairs/just pistols if they already have a gobbie to put in their tanks.
Is this just a designer fad of the present time?

Most will purchase these guys and have a tank just for them. Pistol shrimp can still eat and kill your fish aas well as destroy rock work.

I myself wouldnt have one in my tank unless I had one dedicated to them.
