Quick Steel Stand Question?

Hello Everyone...

I just have a quick question about cabinetry on the outside of a steel stand.

How are some of you doing the cabinetry so that it can accommodate doors and it's frame while still being attached to the steel frame the tank sits on?

I can not seem to figure out how I am going to work the cabinetry on the outside of this stand.

I am building a 806 Gallon Full Reef, the tank is coming from Aquarium Obsessed. The stand is 108 x 48, the tank is 108 x 48 x 36. The system is being built as we speak.

So with that said any help would be great!

the other way is to magnets. I like sidewinder770's way. the Mangets are nice if you want to take the skin off to work on your tank.

I'm just going to velcro the panels on so I can take the entire side off if I need to

Do you think it will change the integrity of the stand if I drill holes?

This is going on a 806 gallon starphire and as well I am building a 300 gallon starphire.

Just one of the random questions! The large system is going in a Casino and I would hate to use some Velcro all though it is a good idea.

Thanks everyone for all your help, I think if it does not change the way the stand holds then I will drill into the steel.

few holes will not weaken the steel, on mine i drilled 3 holes just to hold 2x4 in place and not used for any support. of course building around the steel would enable for you to add any addtional supports as i did. i would recommened getting thicker grade steel for longetivity and over building them wont hurt IMO. since the weight of water is about 8lbs per gallon, plus rock, and etc. i also coated all the wood screws with poly for addtional protection. hope this helps

What do you mean by Poly on the screws? I thought I would have to coat them with something. What is the Poly?

sorry, polyurethane coating just like clear coat so rusting doesn't occurs or clear silicone also work just fine too.

Thanks that is what I had in mind! I think I am going to go with your method. I am going to have the stands way over built. I am sure they will be fine.
