I have found about a 220 gal oceanic tank for 600 bucks. It's approx 9 years old. One owner and never sat empty. What should I look for. Going tomorrow. Here are some pics. Includes all pictured. No lights.

The older the tank the weaker the silicone that binds it together. Although we all plan initially to keep our tanks forever this is seldom the case. Few manage to keep a tank more than five or six years before Life changes their plans.

Take your time and carefully examine all viewing surfaces for scratches. Examine the silicone. Is it cloudy/yellowing? Are the edges still adhering to the glass or are they shrinking back? Has it been damaged in any way? If you have to re-silicone the whole thing (not unreasonable) it certainly won't be worth $600 to you any more, will it?
