Quickest Cycle

Through the hundreds of hours I've spent researching reef tanks, I am confused on the difference between live and dry rock in a cycle. More importantly which rock cycles faster as I'm kind of in a hurry.
Thanks for any advice

Live rock cycles faster because there's already bacteria living within the rock, however you'll most likely introduce pests into your system.

I would get live sand, dry rock, and some bacteria additives, in fact, that's exactly what i did.

Why the rush?
Nothing good happens fast in this hobby..

But with proper planning/sourcing a tank does not need to cycle at all..

If you want to go fast, get cured live rock and skip the live sand. Get additives if you want. I still wouldn't add any livestock until a month in. Speeding leads to crashes.
