quiet one pump releasing stray voltage

The last couple months my PH probe hasn't been working properly and I think I just found out why. I noticed when I stuck my hand in my sump that I was getting a mild, tingly shock. I unplugged everything one by one until I found that as soon as I unplugged my quiet one 3000 (that runs external with a SQWD), I stopped feeling the tingly shock.

Has anyone else experienced this with these pumps? It's only about 3 months old.

I had the same problem with a 4000. I noticed my chiller was running non stop and when I reached in the tank to start feeling pumps it zapped me. I unplugged things one at a time and found it was the external 4000 also with a SCWD on a closed loop. It has been replaced with an OceanRunner 3500 and temps went down tremendously. THe 4000 had been a good pump until that time but when it failed it did so quickly.

I originally designed it for a OR 2500 and I couldnt get it to stop leaking.

I just realized the problem. I had taken apart the plumbing to glue it and was waiting for it to dry before i turned it back on. I later plugged it in and walked away not realizing that I forgot to put the priming cap back on. So it probably ran dry all day. Most likely it seized the motor up because I just realized the pumps not working now.
