Quinine Sulfate

Hi, was wondering if anyone has ever used quinine sulfate to treat ich or velvet on fish, and or to treat a tank. I am considering using it on a 75 gallon tank that has been used as a qt tank. It has been fallow for 4 months and when I put a new fish in it that had also gone through qt for 6 weeks, the new fish broke out with crypt. I would like to hear others thought on this drug. I have well water, so I do not use copper. Have copper in the water and trying to keep stable levels is very hard.

Thank you so much for your reply. Great info in that link. I just dosed my tank today and plan on stiring up the gravel to get it mixed well. I did read nationals website and it did not mention anything about the rocks or gravel absorbing any of the med itself. But for those concerned about how much of the med is left in the water, I would simply run carbon or do a larger water change.
