Any suggestions on where to get about 40 gallons of R/O water? The LFS by Northland needs a 48 hour notice - of course I was looking to get it tonight or tomorrow morning to fill a new tank.

walmart by the Fox River Mall has RO water. You just have to fill your own.
When purchasing R/O water from an outside source for use in an aquarium I would recommend testing the water with a TDS meter prior to purchasing the water. Some places are pretty good about maintaining their filters and others are not.
Just out of curiosity what do places charge for a gallon of water?
You can get your own R/O filter from some places pretty cheap now and if you have the ability to install one for yourself you will be money ahead in the long run.

I pay .36 cents for bulk water at the Wal-mart in Neenah. I believe it is .65 cents pre-packaged. Haven't had any problems and the machine is maintained by the same company that sells the packaged water in the store. There are maintenance labels on the outside of the machine so hopefully someone is checking on things.
I believe the two Appleton stores have Culligan bulk machines. Woodman's is the cheapest at .30 cents but theirs doesn't have the UV serialization.

Cub Foods on Northland also has RO water in a dispenser. I can't remember how much they charge. but it's cheaper if you have your own gallon jugs. We had to run there once when we didn't have enough spare water made and had the copper check valve incident. 
i was buying my ro water from walmart and it was good for 2 months and then my tank was getting alot of algae and tested the water and it had 1.0 ppm phosphates so now i buy it from my lfs for .69 ro .99 ro salt mix if you do buy from walmart check the perameters first good luck
There is some H2O place in Neenah, (I don't remember the name of the company but its in the yellow pages) anyways they were selling drinking water of all types (even ro) delivered right to your door in 5 gal containers, and for delivered water I thought the price was resonable at around $1 a gal.
You can even get on a delivery schedule where they will deliver X amount on the first of the month or whatever your need is.
This water is sold to be in a water cooler, so they pick up the empty containers when they drop off the filled one, Just an Idea that I came across for my self down the road.

I wondered about the store bought water myself.
I use the RO water from walmart for my nano and I still get diatoms and a little cyano. At first the tank was new and then I had the kool-aid incident so I was'nt sure if it was the water or not.
The store water is RO but not DI as far as I can tell. None of them say DI.
I meant to bring a jug of store RO and distilled and my tap to Jasons meeting to have him test it with his TDS just to see the difference but forgot.
I think youd be better off getting it from RCS or feederfish but dunno for sure.
I have well water so use my tap for my big tanks. It doesnt have any nitrates but I think it has phosphates although I havent tested it.

We have well water - but also have a water softener hooked up.
i just think there cutting corners to save money and not changing the filters like they should at walmart because the first 2 months or so i got great water and had almost no nusiace algae but noe its covered and i know its from cullagan water from walmart because i tested it again
