is it true that you dont have to mix salt to r/o water when doing top off's from evap?

only have to mix your R/o water when doing swaps? is this true?

right you do not mix salt with top off water for evaporation.. when water evaporates only the water evaporates not the salt stays..

if you keep adding saltwater for top offs.. it will keep highering your salinity

True. You definately do not want to use salt mix as evap. / make-up water it will cause your salinity to increase.

salt doesnt evaporate, only water. thats why you dont add salt to the top off water, only for water changes, or when saltwater is removed from the tank. you dont have to add anything to RO water for top off.

This is a silly question, but I need to get it addressed:

When doing water changes...if my tank is full to where I want it to be and the salinity is 1.025, then I siphon out 2 gallons of water, then I put in 2 gallons, each individual gallon needs to be at 1.025 or lower?
