IME this is not a reef safe butterfly, and any corals are at risk. If you want to try one, be sure to have a trap ready, just in case, and know how to use it
I love the Racoons! To me, I have found the Racoon to be one of the easiest along with the Copperbands. When I have had them, as long as they were eating when I purchased them, I had no problems. But they will love your corals!
I always though Copperbands were hard. My mushrooms were how he started eating, but it was well worth it. Raccoons IMO are much prettier than a couple mushrooms. The hardiest butterfly is actually the Klein's butterflyfish, but it is rather drab.
Raccoon butterflyfish are literally one of the least reef safe type of butterflies out there. So yes your SPS will be at risk, and so will any other coral in your tank.
SDguy commented on this issue earlier in the thread:
What is funny is at the Shedd Aquarium they have two in their large coral tank in the Wild Reef exhibit and one smaller one in their frag tank in the Wild Reef. And they aren't constantly swapping out coral. I think they get fed more than your average fish though and have lots of coral to spread their picking around.
