Radient Wrasse or Yellow Coris?

My LFS ordered one of each for me and they are arriving tomorrow... Im going to go pick up one, maybe both of them, tomorrow...

Which one do you guys like the most??

I have an egg crate rim around top of the tank, basically only like 2 squares around the whole edge of the tank, so choosing one that jumps the least would be important...

Opinions??

Why not both? I have both together along with a few other wrasses. Radiant is my favorite. Yellow is common but still a good fish. Both will jump. Egg crate will not stop, especially if it is just around the rim. My yellow jumped through my eggcrate and i had it across the entire top. Found him on the floor, thought he was dead. I think he must have been out at least 30 min. Went to pick him up and he moved ever so slightly. Put him back in the tank, sank like a stone. Started breathing more and more. 3 hours later, he just got up and swam away. Still have him and he's doing great.

Good luck

I was thinking about that, but the tank isn't that big...

I might be able to find some sort of netting to put over the egg crate, but still not block too much light...

I think im leaning toward the yellow coris, as a yellow fish would add some awesome color to the tank! But at the same time, the radiant has some unique coloring, and could be an awesome fish as well...

Ahh! Don't know what to do... I think if I could figure out the netting/jumping thing, then I would feel much more comfortable about either fish...

I made a screen out of bird netting and screen window frame. Works pretty well. Havent lost anything yet and it really doesnt block much light at all. There is a link somewhere around here with the step by step on how to make. Pretty easy and can get everything from Home Depot. Let me see if I can find the link.

Thanks for searching for that link for me! I appreciate it.

How small are the openings in the bird netting?? Seems like they would have to be pretty smaller to be smaller than the egg crate.

Thansk again for looking! Hope you find it :)

i like the radiant better than the yellow coris. I have a radiant in my tank along with 2 other wrasses and the radiant is the most active out of the two wrasses i have that bury themselves in the sand. My leopard wrasse is only out a few hours a day and is in the sand bed for the majority of the time. The radiant is out and about all morning to about 8pm so i actually get to see it when i come home from work at night where i only see the leopard wrasse in the morning when i feed.

Well, the radiant wrasse wasn't looking too good, but the yellow coris that arrived today had already begun eating and looked really healthy..

so i got the yellow coris!

Hes now in quarantine with a tupperware thingy of sand, (which he hasn't found yet...) SHould I be worried if he doesn't bury himself?? I don't want him unneccesarily stressing... Does that make sense?

Well, i came home from class this evening after class, after all the lights in my apartment were out, to find my little wrasse asleep between a pvc fitting and the bottom of the tank..

Looks like he didn't find my sand box i got for him...
