Radion started to smoke

My 1st gen radions have been acting up for the past 2 week by coming on at random times or just firing the red LEDs all day long. Tonight I Googled the issue and it said maybe they were overheating so I pulled the ballasts out and put them in the open and replugged in the lights. After maybe 5 minutes one of the Radions started to smoke like crazy. Needless to say I unplugged it.


Since I started typing this my other Radion has now shut off again and the button is blinking green.

I have had the lights for 18 months and I am thinking I wasted ALOT of money.

Call Ecosmart directly first thing tomorrow morning!! they will take care of it and replace the lights for you, most likely free of charge. Ask for Rob, he has been EXTREMELY helpful with any Ecosmart issue I've had.

I have told with Ryan Greenawalt, he promised me replacement as fast as possible. My distributor told me that he is waiting new lights between 15-20 december, and 1 of it is mine….

I called on Friday and waited on hold for an hour and never got anyone. I left a voicemail but never got a call back so I have to wait until Monday now with 1 light left working a short intervals. I guess I will try first thing Monday morning.

I would move the working light higher over the tank and increase the intensity to cover the entire tank until Monday. Call them in the morning and they are usually good with calling you back.
