radion usb port

hello i am wondering if you had any tips to reattach the usb port to the small circuit board inside the radion or if its possible to get new circuit board mailed out?

i dont really want to pay for shipping&repairs when it is such an easy fix.

I attempted to fix mine due to rusting issues. I contacted Ecotech about checking to see if this would be covered under warranty (since I only had it for about less than 6 months) and they said no due to water damage. I had to shell more money to get the parts ordered to get my lights working again.

Anyway, I attempted to do the repair myself. Though I was able to replace the USB connector, I was still getting no where as my lights were not working to begin with. Possibly due to a short with the rusting issue causing other problems. Your case may be different, if your lights are still working, you could replace the Micro USB connector but if its still under warranty, I would check with EcoTech first.

Replacing the connector is no easy task since the pin spacing is very tight. If you know how to solder surface mount components than this should be a breeze. If you have no experience, I would take it to a local repair shop who can do this for you.

i might do that. i dont believe its under warranty anymore, but both lights work fine. im even able to control the one with loose usb port with the wireless feature. i managed to get the old usb port working (somewhat) with electrical tape, so for someone with the steady hands, this should be a breeze.
