Radion XR30w Pro

I would like to see if the Radion XR30w Pro with the upgraded lens (36x36) be able to light a 36" cube that has a height of 27". In your opinion would there be enough coverage? Was planning on mounting it 8-9" above water line in center of tank. Mainly going to be a LPS system with 15-20% SPS. Thanks

Aaron,

For an aquarium that size, a single XR30w G3 Pro with our Wide Angle Lenses should be fine. That said, you will want to keep your SPS towards the top of the aquarium.

Thanks for the reply. Can these units be placed in canopy as long as I have good air flow? I also have vents on top as well as back of canopy. I noticed fan on this unit is aimed at water level and not on top? Not quite sure why--are they used to cool the LED lights?

Aaron,

You will want to have the Radion at least 8 inches above the surface of the water. That said, you can mount you Radion in a canopy assuming it has good airflow like yours does.
