Rainbow montipora question...

I got a Rainbow montipora from my LFS today, and was wondering if I glue it to the side of my rock will it grow like a shelf? Like common montis do? Or is it better to let it grow over a rock?

Also what placement should I put it on in the tank?

I got a single 150W MH about 8 inches off the surface. But my rocks go very high, about 3 inches from the surface of the water.


I will be adding 2x 30Inch T5s soon.

It will not shelf.Only stay on rock. Medium like.

Rainbow montis are encrusting not monti caps.... so no shelf. It will just encrust over the rock. I have mine mid level in my tank.
