Raising alkalinity

My alkalinity has dropped to 6.55 DKH and I was going try and raise it using baking soda.
I used an online calculator and it said I need 3.7 tsp to raise it to 8.5 dkh.
Can I add the mixture of disowned baking soda in my ato?

I would do it by hand rather than ato, just in case that calculation is off. You don't want to increase by more that 0.5 dkh per day. Lots more control doing by hand and testing than using the ato.
