Raising carbonates

Has anyone ever heard of using club soda to boost the carbonates? My pH is a little high (8.4) and the carbonate hardness is low. Since I don't have access to CO2, I was thinking of using club soda. It contains CO2, sodium bicarbonate, and sodium citrate, all of which I've seen as ingredients in various reef supplements.

Also, if you think it would work, any guesses on dosing. I was thinking about using 10 ml a day to start out.

I'm certainly no expert, but seems to me 8.4 pH isn't anything to worry about. What is the dKH level? If you need to raise that , have you considered using Baking Soda or Part B of a 2 Part? Also need to consider Ca and Mg levels.

You might want to try this thread in the chemistry forum. I am sure they would be more knowledgeable regarding possible pitfalls.
