To all ClownFish Lovers!

I wish to attempt to raise my True Percula Clownfish babies! My clowns are spawning since a year or so and I get a bunch of eggs each 2 weeks. I always get about a hundred eggs.

Here is what I plan to do as a setup for the baby clowns. Feel free to give any suggestions, I am a beginner regarding fish reproduction, it's my very first attempt!

I live in Canada, where would you buy the best Rotifer and Phytoplancton culture?

What kind of fertiliser or food would you use for the rotifer?

Do you only feed once when you start your new culture?

What size are the rotifer when they can be eaten by clownfish?

What should be the size of the net to catch the rotifer?
Where can it be purchased?

Concerning water changes, what would you do? A water change daily in the clownfish tank?

For how many days?

And what about water changes in the rotifer and the phytoplancton cultures?

I am at school right now and I can't feed the clownfish 4-5 times a day.. What I plan to do is to put rotifer and phytoplancton in the clownfish tank in the morning by 8:00 AM so the clownfish can thrive all day long and the rotifer which are not eaten can continue to feed. When I arrive school by 5:00 PM I would feed them again. Maybe I would let the light open all night long and feed them before I go to sleep by 11:00 PM. That makes 3 feedings a day. What do you think of that plan?

I need a helping hand if I ever wnat to acheive this project!

Thanks a lot!

couple changes i woudl suggest:

use a ready-made food for the rotifers instead of raising phyto. It's simpler. Check into reed maricultures' website to see if anyone local to you might carry something like rotifer diet.

Get a rotifer sieve from brineshrimpdirect.
Get the rotifer cultures started now.
Get joyce wilkerson's book on clownfish.

The feeding schedule is fine.

You do not address how you are going to catch the fry once they hatch.

Might want to check out the other threads on this forum as quite a few of the questions asked are answered in them.
