Raising Salinity w/ CUC & External Pump ?'s

I currently have 2 fish in QT, the salinity of it is at 1.024, so one more water change will raise it to where I want which is 1.025. My DT is at 1.023 and I was wondering if I did a water change at .002 or higher with my CUC in the tank will that harm them? If I am not able to do that then would I just need to do a water change .001 higher than what is in the tank already to increase it safely?

I have an external pump that I got from my work (see picture) and I was hoping to use it for an ATO. I have my RO/DI unit set up down stairs and was going to have that pump wired to an ATO and have the water travel up to the sump. The water is roughly traveling 40-50', 50' being generous and 8'-10' of that will be traveling upwards. I would appreciate any ideas for this to work with an ATO. My other option was to build something besides the tank to hold 20gal of water and do it like that with an ATO, I just didn't want to keep lugging more buckets that I already have to up stairs in order to fill the reservoir for the ATO.

Raising the salinity a few points at a time will be fine..

That pump how ever is a HUGE NO NO.. I SEE COPPER All over it. and if i remember right those have a metal shaft inside. Saltwater will eat it up...

Yea the copper is from the old system it was hooked up to. Was planning on replacing them. I'll dig more online on the pump and see if I can find the schematics on it.

If you can change that to plastic and there is no metal jn contact with water it may be fine. Check its run time not all pumps can run for long periods.

What service was it in at your work? In all honesty to get it suitable it may be worth it to just a get a new pump.

It was used for pumping slovent/mineral spirits through a hose that's roughly 1/4 OD roughly 100' long. It didn't have to pump up any height though. I will probably not use it, it was just an idea I had since we had a few laying around at my work.

Any other ideas or pump that will work with the situation I have?

I've been using a sump pump for years and don't think it would be a problem to go that distance. Reasonably priced at the local big box.

Since you got some head pressure to deal with maybe look at the Iwaki line of pumps

Would I need the head height to match only the upwards travel of the water or the whole length?
