Randalls goby and yellow watchman

Hi all,

I've been debating between a randalls goby and a ywg. Instead of debating it, can I have both in my 50 gallon tank (36x18x18)?

Also plan to add one candy stripe pistol shrimp

I'd be too afraid they'd fight. The randall's goby apparently has no issues with other gobies and will even share burrows but, I think the ywg might be a mean character to other sand sifting gobies. Maybe go with a randall's goby so that if you want to add something like clown gobies or neon gobies you wouldn't have such an issue.

I bought a pair of Randall's, with pistol shrimp, from DD a few years back and put them in a 75 gallon tank. The larger Randall proceeded to harass the smaller to death and also harassed 2 dart gobies and 2 other small gobies to death. I don't know if it was a "rogue" Randall's or not, but it wouldn't back down from any fish that came anywhere near it's burrow and seemed very agressive.

I have a Randalls that I bought with a pistol a few years ago now.

Another pair came up for sale locally so I took the plunge and risked the purchase.

Within minutes both the Randalls had paired along with the Tiger pistols. They all share the same burrow.

I also had a Pink Spot goby in the same tank with no issues....except it stole one of the pistols.....he was move on quickly.

Stunning fish.....
