My guess is you tied the wrong kind of knot That's why you should always use barb-less hooks.

Ok, so... After this hawkfish killed.... 1 Blue Spot Jawfish, 1 Mystery Wrasse, 3 Fairy Wrasse, 1 Candy Hogfish and ate 2 Firefish.... screw him. I almost speared him but this was easier... In a rage I tied a hasty hook that obviously was incorrect... whatever, you do strange things under pressure/anger... I lost the first line which is where this picture came from... I tied a correct knot after and got him out no problem. I was so angry I pulled him off the hook and bit his head off.

I'm still laughing about the "I was so angry I pulled him off the hook and bit his head off. " remark. While funny now, at the time it certainly wasn't. I'd have done the same after having a fish go on a murderous rampage. He'd be sushi for sure.
